Explanation of Reviews Minimize

Sometimes books get bad reviews, when they aren't that bad. In many cases, the material just did not match the reader's expectations.  For example, if you are an advanced developer and pick up a book aimed at an entry level programmer; then you might say it is a horrible book. An entry level developer might pick up that same book and say it is great.

I will attempt to distinguish the level of each book and help you determine if you are the target audience for the book.  At the top of each review I rate several characteristics of the book.  Below these ratings is the supporting text.

Each ratings is based on 5 stars with 1 being weak and 5 being the best or most comprehensive. Following are the rating areas:

  1. Readability
  2. Layout
  3. Examples

Use the form to the left and sign up to be notified of new reviews. I will be randomly drawing subscribers to win copies of some of these review books. The only way you can win is if you are registered. I promise not to spam you or rent your name to others.  I hate spam myself.
